Welcome to the latest Release Updates post.

In a similar vein to the old Alice Cooper hit, school's no longer out for summer and it would appear that you're lucky if your school hasn't fallen to pieces this year. The extra peace and quiet during the day may come as a pleasant gift to those that are working remotely though might prove to be a nervous setting for those whose kids are starting at a new school; don't worry, they'll be fine.

A small bit of news relating to the product update notes! We're changing up how we're carrying out releases going forward and with this, it makes more sense that I publish a summary of the previous month's releases at the beginning of each month. This one is a little later than they will usually be, from here on they should be on the first working day after the 1st of the month.

As per usual, our developers have been working hard to bring you an exciting update this month. There has been a lot of work in the background (which you can read about here) but there have been some great updates and new features released this past month, the highlights of which are below:

DPD Delivery Instructions

Whether they are imported from channel or entered manually, as long as they show up in the "Special Instructions" field on your orders, delivery instructions can now be sent up to DPD.

Of course, you may not wish to have what's written there to be sent to DPD, which is fine as this feature is entirely optional! It will be off by default but if you want to switch it on then you'll need to visit each of your DPD shipping methods and switch the "Send Special Instructions" toggle on as demonstrated below:

Remember though, this can only be done if the instructions are written in the "Special Instructions" field found under the "Shipping & Handling" section when editing your orders.

Custom Integration DCN Upload

Users with custom integrations will be happy to hear that we've added the option to upload a DCN (delivery confirmation number) when you despatch your custom integration orders via Royal Mail that don't have tracking numbers.

As with all our other integrations that have this feature, it's entirely optional and will require switching on if you intend on using it. To do this, all you need to do is switch on the toggle for "Send Delivery Confirmation Numbers" found under the 'Order Processing' section when editing your custom integration:

IFS Packaging Types

There are a number of packaging types that are acceptable when shipping via IFS but for the most part you'll find yourself using: Carton (CTN). This is all well and good, however, StoreFeeder previously didn't have an option to deviate from this size.

Gone are those days! With our latest IFS update, you'll be able to select from all of the packaging types available below:

  • Carton (CTN)
  • Half Pallet (HPA)
  • Pallet (PAL)
  • Carrier Supplied (PAK)
  • Fedex Supplied Box (BOX)
  • Fedex Supplied 15kg Box (BOXI 5)
  • Fedex Supplied 25kg Box (BOX25)
  • Carrier Supplied Envelope (ENV)

You can set these at a shipping method level, simply edit your IFS shipping methods and choose one of the above options from the drop down box labelled "Packaging Type" as shown below:

New Magento Product Attribute Mapping Token

Last but not least, at the request of our Magento users we've added an extra token to map your attributes to - Priority Supplier SKU.

There isn't much more to say on this one but it's worth mentioning for any Magento users that may have a use for it / have been waiting for it.

Finally….

There have been some great new features and fixes implemented in this last month's release's and we hope you find them useful in one way or another.

As always we’ll keep working hard to provide you with the best service we can.

From all of us here at StoreFeeder, happy selling.
