Meet Our Team | Adan Blenkinsopp

May 11, 2023

After a brief hiatus, meet our team returns with the vanguard of StoreFeeder's front-end development. Aidan Blenkinsopp let's get to know you...

What do you do at StoreFeeder?

I'm a front-end developer, so broadly speaking I take designs of things and bring them to life with code.

What problem faced by eCommerce companies is it that you want to solve?

I don't work on that side of the business, but knowing the platform the way I do, I would say StoreFeeder can solve many problems from order management to stock and inventory. It's such an expansive piece of software.

What are your past credentials?

I got into web development by being in bands for 20+ years and not wanting to have to pay people to make websites. I started getting paid for it as a freelancer part-time when I was doing a master's degree and never imagined it would become a career but it's fun and involves much creative problem-solving, much like being in a band, so here I am 15 years later!

How do you fit into the StoreFeeder make-up?

I've been here two years and worked on plenty of different projects, so to use a footballing analogy, I'd say I'm something of a utility player.

What do you like best about working at StoreFeeder?

The people, the tasks, and the reasonably priced Pepsi Max supply in the staff fridge.

What is the primary benefit a company gets by signing up for StoreFeeder?

Partnering with people who really care about their customers and making their product the best it can be.

What values drive you?

Patience, kindness, Pepsi Max.

Who’s your favourite band?

Impossible to choose one; I have been listening to lots of Tool, Beastie Boys, Therapy, Hundred Reasons and Rolo Tomassi lately. I like metal, hip-hop, punk, alt rock, noisy dance music and ambient stuff mainly, I guess.

Who would you have at your summer BBQ and why? – you can pick three alive or dead

Assuming I can't pick my family I'd go for Damon Hill as he was favourite sportsperson when I was younger, Stewart Lee as he's funny, and Shakespeare so I could see what he actually looks like, and ask him why he spelt his name three different ways and if he's annoyed we now spell it "Shakespeare" considering he never spelt it that way.

What is your favourite quote?

"The cream of this country, rich and thick, will always rise to the top" (probably a bit political but the only one I could think of!)

What do you like to do when you are not shoulder to the grindstone at StoreFeeder?

Hang out with my wife, children, and dogs, do some Sim Racing & play video games, watch sports and I've just taken up playing cricket.

Aidan, we salute you! Meet our team will return...
